For a long time now, one of the biggest threats to the security of your credit card numbers were so-called “skimmers”, devices that could capture the number with a swipe. Occasionally you would read news articles about a restaurant or corner store whose employees had been swiping customers’ cards through one during payment and then going on Internet spending sprees with the number.
Check out the latest generation of skimmers. Three and a half inches long, by a quarter inch high and a half inch wide. Installs in a gas pump card slot in eight minutes flat.
Ain’t technological advancement grand?
