Thoughts on Bills/Dolphins

A few thoughts on the epic 35-8 beatdown the Bills just suffered at the hands of the “Andrew Luck Sweepstakes” participant Dolphins.

  • So, we’ve got our third-string quarterback and our second-string running back split out as wide receivers? Uh, might be time to sign some more wideouts.
  • Was McKelvin benched? I don’t think I saw him all game, but rookie cornerback Aaron Williams was out there. Good thing, too; he was giving up plenty of yards, picking up where Leodis left off.
  • “Buffalo Bills Football, brought to you by Acme Air Cast! Acme, because Terrence McGee’s legs are made of glass.”
  • Putting JP Losman in at the end was about the best F-U I’ve seen from a coach in a LONG time.
  • This was the first time in a few weeks I was home on Sunday afternoon to watch the game. I wish I hadn’t been.

The wheels have officially come off of the Bills bandwagon. Everybody off.

If a single play represented this game, I think it would be the “The ball popped out of my hand, so I caught it and threw it anyway” by Fitz. Second place? The blocked punt for Miami’s second score.

    The whole performance was putrid.

    they have completely regressed.

I though Miami sucked this year. Sucked like a fox, I guess.

Clemson lost what should have been a win this weekend against NC State. It’s been a weekend of suck.

Yet again, Ralph & co. built this team on the cheap. This time, rather than land ticket sales with one big free agent signing, they actually put together a good, solid first string of players. But, because this is Ralph Wilson’s money we’re talking about, they didn’t bother to invest in anything behind those players, and a few injuries turned into gaping holes, and further injuries turned in to bad comedy.

Seriously, if any other team in the league had one center, and that guy received a season-ending injury, they’d have signed a free agent or traded for a center right away. But let’s make sure we waste that cash on Brad Smith’s hugely successful wildcat play.

McGee is out for the season. Jones is out for at least three weeks, maybe more. Suit up, Ruvell Martin, you’re actually going to get some playing time.

Our right guard will be playing center next week. Hopefully it goes better than when our left guard had to do it this week.

Might as well give Spiller a shot at center. They’ve got to justify picking him somehow, might as well move him around till he can play a whole game.

Almost makes me wish we had a Monday night game coming up. I’d love to hear Gruden’s commentary on Spiller at center.

“THIS GUY is the fastest center in the league. He can’t block anyone, but he’s a PLAYMAKER.”

I don’t know why everyone worries about the bills going to Toronto. Who would by a franchise of suck?

  9. matt says:

Not just a franchise that sucks, but one that can’t sell out one measly game in a tiny stadium like the Skydome as it is.
