Cognitive Dissonance

I had an interesting thought this morning.

So, the eight years of darkness that we called the second Bush Administration has finally come to a close. There’s a new president in the White House, and we’ve been promised that there’s a whole pile of Change coming down the pike.

Who is the media going to hate on now?

Bush was serving the same purpose for the last few years that the Jews and Gypsies served for centuries in Eastern Europe — universal scapegoat. The economy tanks? Bush’s fault. Unemployment on the rise? Bush’s fault. Cows giving sour milk? Bush’s fault.

Not everything is going to go smoothly. Even if Obama has all the right moves, makes all the right deals, and has all the resources he needs, just plain bad luck hits once in a while. When something gets all cocked up, who is going to catch the blame?

This’ll be interesting to watch. I wonder if the Dems are going to go the same route as the Reps still are, who are still hating on Clinton nine years later.

My guess would be the only branch of government not run by the (D) party- the Supreme Court. Heck, Alito didn’t even show up for the inaug, I guess since O’Bama voted against his confirmation.
